If you enjoy taking a “hands on” approach to helping people and are interested in a satisfying career in natural therapy, then a career in massage may be just what you’re looking for. As more New Zealanders discover the benefits of natural therapies, massage therapists are in increasing demand, with opportunities available in both conventional and alternative health treatment facilities.
Studying for a Career in Massage
If you’re serious about a career in massage, it is best to start by taking a certificate or diploma level course in massage training and related disciplines at a recognised, accredited institution. Upon successful completion of your massage course, you should be able to qualify for acceptance into a professional association (such as Massage New Zealand). As in any profession, the more you know and the greater the level of expertise you can offer, the greater your chances of success. More than just financial success, though, a career in massage can offer the greater success of knowing you are helping others whilst doing something you love at the same time.
