Study for your Bachelor of Naturopathic and Herbal Medicine with Wellpark College
Students come to Wellpark College of Natural Therapies to Study for their Bachelor of Naturopathic and Herbal Medicine for many reasons. Most have already realised that a Holistic approach to the bodies aliments can have outstanding effects on a persons well being and health. The reasons that they choose to Study Natural Medicine with Wellpark College is not only to be taught by amazingly supportive teachers, with many years of teaching and practical experience, but to be in a 1st Class (NZQA Highly Recommended) learning environment with like minded people who have a passion for Integrated Natural Health.
The foundation of naturopathy is that the body has built-in healing abilities. Instead of focusing on specific diseases, a naturopath focuses on the whole person, taking into account the physical, emotional, environmental, energetic and spiritual aspects of wellness.
A naturopath uses naturally occurring medicines to treat disorders, recommends dietary or lifestyle changes to help prevent disease and offers complementary medical advice.
Wellpark College is an Education member of the World Naturopathic Federation and has been involved with helping the WNF achieve it’s goal of integration of Naturopathy into main stream health care. Naturopaths aid and support that healing process by incorporating a variety of alternative health methods based solely on the needs of the individual. These methods and treatments rely exclusively on natural remedies, such as sunlight, fresh air, water, a healthy diet, herbs and nutritional supplementation.
Moreover, most Naturopaths have extensive training and schooling in natural therapies, like nutrition, hydrotherapy, herbs, plants/flowers and massage, just to name a few.
In order to become a qualified naturopath, students must complete at least a 3 year advanced diploma or bachelor degree program and a designated number of hours of supervised clinical practice. Finally, the student can apply for acceptance into one or more of the recognised New Zealand or international naturopathy associations to become entitled to enter into professional clinical practice. While becoming a naturopath requires a serious commitment of time and money, study is flexible and students can apply for NZQA funding.

Bachelor of Naturopathic and Herbal Medicine
“Choosing to study to be a Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist through Wellpark College as opposed to a university, was the best decision of my life. As I know what I am studying now is the future of medicine. I also love the small class sizes so everyone can easily ask questions during classes, and we all have as much one-on-one time with tutors as we need. I have met people who have studied Nutrition/Dietetics through a university and then studied Naturopathy at Wellpark afterwards to expand on their knowledge, but I have not met anyone who has done it the other way around, because once you have discovered Wellpark, you know it is exactly what you have been searching for”.
