Yoga teacher development at Wellpark College gives you time to study holistic approaches to contemporary yoga practices while maintaining traditional yoga values. The programme integrates new and old – history and philosophies with practices of asana, pranayama, relaxation, meditation, chanting and a range of thoughtful lifestyle modifications. These practices are aimed to expand your awareness of the body, to deeper experiences of self that can improve health, wellbeing and perception.
What will I learn?
During the first semester, you study anatomy and physiology, concentrate on philosophy and personal development, and learn about Ayurveda (prkruti and massage).
The second semester brings emphasis to teacher development with more practices and a range of community, one-on-one and College teaching specified hours of yoga classes.
In each Semester, you will have regular practice sessions as well as sessions in critical thinking in theory and philosophy.
Yoga taught at Wellpark College creates a sense of connection and balance between the physical; incorporating awareness of physiology, emotional, mental, social and spiritual aspects that are then available to working on self and others.
When Wellpark College moves over to our Albany Campus in July 2018 you will be able to enjoy at Kawai Purupuru: daily free yoga classes, monthly free kirtan, free meditation classes and the yoga festival at 50% discount?
Please note: this course is not available as distance learning.
